Wax crayons

You will need:
pigment, 50 g
beeswax, 50 g
2 pieces cardboard folded into troughs 15 cm long x 2 cm high
saucepan, small

Fold the cardboard lengthwise and seal with tape to make a trough. This is the mould you will use for your crayons. Put the wax in the saucepan and allow to melt slowly over a low heat. Turn off the heat when the wax has melted. Stir the pigment into the wax until the emulsion just starts to set. Put your moulds on a piece of cardboard in case they leak. Fill the moulds slowly and allow the wax to harden for a few hours. The wax crayons are now ready for use. Clean the saucepan and the spoon with kitchen paper while they are still warm.

To make oil crayons, replace part of the wax with safflower oil.
